Silver medal for Adam
The badminton star, 18, is one of seven Special Olympics Ulster athletes that represented Team Ireland in Belgium and he certainly did his town and province proud.
The local athlete, who also picked up a fifth place relay ribbon, was part of a 46-strong Team Ireland squad that flew out to Belgium. Competing alongside 2,000 Special Olympics athletes from as many as 58 countries, the Ireland team collectively picked up a stunning total of 57 bronze, silver and gold medals.

“We are so proud to have had such a strong delegation of Ulster athletes represent Team Ireland in the 2014 games and to see them pick up 16 medals, as well as a further seven ribbons, is amazing.”
Special Olympics Ulster supports over 2,000 athletes with an intellectual disability in Ulster, with year-round activities in 92 clubs across the region.
