Seventh year of the Malone Charity bowls raises £3000
It was the seventh year of the Summer Bowling Competition for Action Medical Research, at the Club.
A total of £3,000 was raised on the day and competitors joined in the fun.

Hide AdThe Harvey Townsend Trophy was won by Belfast Bowling Club. The team, named “The Broken Wings” consisted of Peter Rankin, Derek Boucher, Ken Kelly and David Cairns. The trophy was presented by the Malone Bowling Club president, Rowland Cottell.
The runners up were Bill McCandless’s Hilden team, “Get Them Up”.
The best named team was the Falls Bowling Club team, “From the Queens to the Jack”.
This year the organisers added a best dressed team, as you can guess by the photo, it was Irvine McKay’s team “The Indians” from Malone Bowling club, consisting of Michael Scott; Uel Ramsey; Barry Carson and Irvine McKay, who took the prize.
