New youth centre for Knockmore
In October 1969 the Northern Ireland Housing Trust agreed to provide a youth centre costing between £6,000 and £7,000 in the Knockmore-Old Warren area.
It was to be a wooden structure of a temporary nature and was expected to be open by early 1970.
The Trust also agreed to provide a children’s playground in both the Knockmore and Old Warren estates.
There were also plans for at least one football pitch in the area during the following year.
