Irwin aims to be hot on Seeley’s tail in British Supersport series
Speaking to the Times, ahead of the season curtain-raiser at Brands Hatch, Irwin was upbeat about the year ahead: “We have tested in Spain, Donnington and Snetterton and, in the main, it has all went well. I wasn’t very well at Snetterton so I didn’t get much time on the bike but the other tests were very positive.
“I’m still behind Alastair (Seeley), Billy McConnell and Taylor Mackenzie as far as time on the bike is concerned, so hopefully at Brands we can make the top six and progress from there to the podiums as the season goes. It’s a long season and I am in a great team so I need to prove myself.”

Jordanstown rider Reid joins the FFX Yamaha squad and after a sensational end to 2013 that saw him win three races from six starts could easily take the title. “Testing went well and I am looking forward to Brands. The bike is good and the team are working well so it all looks good,” he said.
‘No pressure’ on Andrew
Andrew Irwin will ride for the MWR Kawasaki team and after the Snetterton test he was feeling good about the new season. “There is no pressure on me. I plan to enjoy myself and I find if I do enjoy my racing the results follow,” said the 19-year-old Carrick rider.
