Lurgan ladies’ campaign featured two wins within a week - at the expense of Donaghadee on the way to third overall behind Dungannon and Portadown within the NIWBA Senior League.
It marked the most impressive league position in recent memory within the ladies’ section and a cause for celebration.

A 17-shot success arrived in the first match - with the home club down for the majority of the match and trailing by 18 after the first five ends.
A slick recovery left Lurgan one shot adrift after 15 ends before a strong finish produced 13 for a 17-shot post-adjustment result.
Irish Anderson, Eileen Robson, Norah Johnston and Maura McGoldrick were down by five at the halfway stage then found top form for a 19-12 tally.

Hide AdWinifred Kirkwood, Molly Ward, Gwen Hayes and Edith Hobson struggled early on to sit down by 13 by six ends. The gap at the close was four before an adjustment led to a 14-13.5 win.
Genny Little, Irene Cunningham, Dot McCoy and Joan Bunting were four short of the lead by 14 ends ahead of a strong push to win.
Angela Thompson, Jennifer McVeigh, Wendy Cassells and Rosemairi Bingham worked hard for a 13-12 success.
The 10-shot defeat of Donaghadee in the final match helped to wrap up third for Lurgan in the overall table.

Winifred Kirkwood, Molly Ward, Catherine McGrail and Edith Hobson held a five-shot lead but were down by 9-7 after the 10th end.
It was 16-11 to Donaghadee by 14 ends but Lurgan managed to regroup to take nine shots off the closing stages for a 20-12 triumph.
Angela Thompson, Jennifer McVeigh, Gwen Hayes and Rosemariri Bingham lost out by 18-13 on rink two.
