Hotshot Wallace pots the magnificent seven
It may seem like an easy win, but Wallace admitted afterwards that it could well have been a lot closer had the number two ranked player enjoyed a little bit more good fortune in running.
“I was as nersous as a kitten as match time approached and it perhaps showed as I struggled to get going and was lucky Jordan didn’t win the first two frames, making a very good break to pinch the first on the pink and then taking green to pink to snatch the second, which had been a comedy of errors. And, since he won the third, I could well have been 3-0 down” explained the former St.Patricks clubman.

“Jordan won the first when we returned and was desperately unlucky to get a costly ‘kick’ three reds out to let me in for a crucial win with a 41 for 9-2 and I made the top break of the match, 85, in what turned out to be the clinching twelfth frame” explained the delighted Pot Black player.
