Garvey to begin first IHL season at Pembroke
Garvey, of course, opted to join the new league with fellow Ulster clubs Banbridge, Cookstown, and Annadale, while five teams from the Leinster League; Pembroke Wanderers, Glenanne, Railway Union, Three Rock Rovers and Monkstown join the sole Munster team in Cork Church of Ireland to complete the island’s top division.
The league will be played on a home and away basis and will stretch through the season until the final matches on April 16th providing all teams with an extremely competitive series of games involving the cream of Irish hockey.

Hide AdGarvey begin with a tirp to face Pembroke Wanderers on September 26th. This is followed by Monkstown at home on October 3rd, local rivals Banbridge at Havelock Park on October 10th and the month ends with a home game against Three Rock Rovers on October 17th.
The three games in November are Cork Church of Ireland away on the 7th, Cookstown at home on the 14th and Glenanne the following day on November 15th in Dublin.
There are only two matches in December; Annadale away on the 5th and Railway Union away on the 19th.
After Christmas, Garvey entertain Pembroke at Comber Road on January 23rd. while February is busy with three more game; Monkstown away on 6th, Banbridge at home on 13th and Three Rock Rovers on 20th in Dublin.

Hide AdThere is only one game in March against Cork Church of Ireland at home while April sees the run in with an intense period of four games to complete the programme. Annadale is first on April 2nd followed by a ‘double header’ against Glenanne at home on 9th and Cookstown away on Sunday 10th.
The season ends with a home game against Railway Union at Comber Road on April 16th with Garvey at this stage hopefully in contention for their first IHL title.
The league promises to bring many high quality matches and great enthusiasm from all clubs concerned with the end goal being a rise in the standard of hockey in Ireland.
