U12s finish third in prestigious tournament
In the opening fixture against Craigavon City Rathfriland opened the scoring after five minutes when a sweet passing move involving Max Wilson and Jake Corbett found Adam Bronte in front of goal who finished from close range.
With their tails up they sealed a 2-0 win when Ryan Tweedie blasted in a cracking volley.

Hide AdThe second game against Belfast side St Oliver Plunkett went pretty much the same way as the first. Two goals from Wilson and a fine finish from Corbett secured a 3–0 win.
Rathfriland ensured they were one of only two teams to top their group with maximum points by seeing off Armagh City 2 – 0 with the help of a goal from Corbett and, an own goal.
The semi-final saw the locals take on the only other unbeaten team and pre-tournament favourites, Mount Merrion FC from Dublin. Unfortunately Rathfriland never really got going in this game and they slipped to a 2 – 0 defeat.
Rathfriland then picked themselves up to clinch third place with a 2 – 0 victory over
