Rathfriland U16s book cup final spot

The U16s lined up against Annagh Utd at Tandragee 3G on Friday night having topped their group to book the semi-final place.
The dream of a final place looked a distant hope when after 20 seconds the Portadown team broke down the left and opened the scoring with long range shot.

Hide AdHaving overcome the initial shock Rathfriland established a foothold in the game. The best chance of the first half fell to Bailie those shot went narrowly wide.
It was some neat passing on the edge of the box that ended with the ball breaking to Bailie who fired confidently into the top left corner from 18 yards.
They did take the lead shortly after when Shea Byrne fired home from 10 yards out.
The result was put beyond doubt when Byrne broke down the right and rode two tackles to poke home at the near post.
The final few minutes saw keeper Kamil Koch deny Annagh a life line with a fantastic finger-tip saved. The U16s will line up against Dungannon Youth in the Firmus Mid Ulster League Cup Final.
