Murtagh spot on to secure win for Oxford Sunnyside
Oxford started slowly and allowed St. Mary’s to dominate possession in the first half. St. Mary’s took the lead after 15 minutes, a simple ball played from midfield into the forward on the edge of the box where the St Mary’s striker was allowed to turn and finish.
Oxford battled hard to find a way back into the game, a mistake from the St. Mary’s centre half after 35 minutes allowed Mickey Murtagh to break one on one with the goalkeeper and Mickey scored with his usual aplomb.

The match was heading for a draw when John McGuigan released Jack Wilson down the left wing, Jack pushed the ball past the defender who slid in and brought him down to concede a penalty. Mickey Murtagh stepped up to secure all three points with his 20th goal of the season.
