Football: Cookstown RBL beaten by better side
NEWINGTON RESERVES 4
An under strength Cookstown RBL went down tamely to a very good Newington side.
Within 10 minutes RBL conceded after a mix up in the defence gave the Newington striker a simple tap in. RBL did respond well to this early setback and James McPartland wasted a golden opportunity when put clear only to see his shot saved by the Newington keeper.

The second half saw RBL control much of the game but were unable to create any clear openings to get themselves back into the match.
Despite all their pressure RBL conceded a third against the run of play which gave Newington an unassailable lead.
With five minutes remaining a mistake by an RBL defender allowed Newington to score a fourth which gave a flattering touch to the scoreline although Newington were the better side.
