ALTHOUGH beaten 31-20, Rainey O.B.II can take a lot of positives from their meeting with Ballymena II at Eaton Park.
A man short for the entire second half, their youthful side played a lot of good rugby, sharing six tries with their opponents.

Hide AdScrum-half Lennox side-stepped his way through from a scrum on the '22' and Hawkins forced his way over from a lineout but was injured in the process and had to retire. Irvine converted one try and kicked a penalty for Rainey who trailed 16-13 at the interval.
No.8 Brennan scored Rainey's third try,picking up on the '10' to exploit an inviting gap. Rainey had five debutants on duty and they should benefit from the experience.In the end, it was Ballymena's goal kicking that won the game for them.

Rainey O.B.III 20
INEXPERIENCE proved to be their downfall when Rainey O.B.III were defeated 29-20 by Portadown IV at home.
They would have won the game had they made better use of possession and were unfortunate to concede an intercept try right on half-time.
