Case of ‘Sixy football’ for Ballymena United’s Youth Team
Credit to Ballyclare who made us work very hard in the first half until Jake McNeill picked up a loose ball 20 yards out and struck an unstoppable shot into the bottom right hand corner giving the keeper no chance on the 43rd minute to send ballymena in at the break with the lead they deserved.
Next on the score sheet was midfield maestro Leon Bonnes rose like a salmon to head home goal number two after a cross from Danny Black on the 51st minute.

Hide AdThe wee skyblues were in total control and playing some very fast flowing football. It was a great advertisement for under 19 football in the country.
Next up was striker Robbie Perkins who recieved a superb through ball from McNeill after good interplay by Danny Black and Jake Mcneill on the 65th minute and Perkins made no mistake when 1 v 1 with the keeper. It was Perkins again on the 73rd when after good work from McCready and Corry down the left created space for Perkins to score with a looping shot into top right hand corner giving the keeper no chance.
Perkins had his hand in goal number five on the 82nd minute when he crossed in for Leon Bonnes to score with a header from close range.
The best was most definitely left to last where fullback Jack Campbell carried the ball from right back skipping past two players and crossing in for Nixon at the back post who made no mistake from close range. And excellent performance on the day by everyone but special mention to the two ballymena fullbacks Campbell and Corry who were outstanding.
