Carrick made to battle all the way against Coleraine students
It was the Bannsiders who started strongly on home turf and took the lead after seven minutes when they moved the ball wide from a scrum, then came back inside and went over in the corner for a converted score.
But, Carrick hit back when a suberb Carrick driving maul set up Neil Hanna to go over for an uncoverted try. They went in front 10 minutes later when Luke Totten kicked a penalty.

Hide AdUUC regained the lead early in the second session when they went over for a conveted try after picking and driving from a penalty to touch 10 metres out.
Carrick responded through Andy Kinkaid who burst through two tackles to score. The try was not converted, but Totten kicked Carrick in front again just two minutes later with a penalty from just inside the UUC 10-metre line.
He extended their advantage five minutes later with another successful penalty.
Jason Wady darted over in the corner for a late uncoverted try, giving his side a 24-14 lead. UUC responded with a penalty to claim a losing bonus point.
