Cairns welcomes old faces back on board at Ballymoney
Bolstered by four re-signings at training on Thursday night, Peter Cairns team looks like a completely different outfit to the one at the start of the season.
Re-signing for the club were Bryan Moore from Glebe Rangers and midfielder Lee McLelland who was playing at Wakehurst. Previous top goalscorer Gerald Gillan returns to Ballymoney after a spell with Larne and winger Gareth Mclaughlin makes a comeback after spells with Bangor and PSNI.

“The last game we played was nine weeks ago in the Intermediate Cup against Lisburn Rangers and we only had 11 players for that game and we were only beaten in the last minute. The squad has been doing really, really well but despite the lay-off the players have stuck at it, showed great commitment and trained twice a week and it has made a big difference.
“At the start of the season we thought we were going to struggle putting a team into that level of football and now it has come on so much that we are going into our business end of the season with confidence.
“The players are hungry for success and you only have to watch them at training to see that. They have been itching to play and are eager and I really believe we have turned the corner.”

Hide AdClub Chairman Noel Lamont was delighted to see the players, who had played for Ballymoney in the Championship, back in action and on the scoresheet against Newbuildings.
“We are delighted to have these players back with us, they bring a great deal of experience and are very good signings for us in this league. We hoped they would give us the boost we need and we believe that we can win this league. We want to get back up into Championship 1 if we can and we have a chance now that we have these boys back.
“It’s a very positive move for the club. Peter always said we needed more players in and we have worked hard to get them and hopefully we will get one or two more yet.”
