Ballymoney Cycling Club gears up for new season
Club chairman Nat Magee encouraged everyone to come along and join them each week and there has seen a great response as members from other clubs took up the invitation.
With important races like the Tour of the North, the Wallace Caldwell Memorial, Shay Elliot Memorial in Wicklow, this season promises to be the best yet.

Hide AdAnd with the Commonwealth and Olympic games on the horizon, competition will be fierce and the quality of racing will be top class.
At the last club meeting held at the Joey Dunlop Leisure Centre club secretary Bobby Kane (pictured) and the newly elected race and event secretary Ryan Patton were making plans for the 2010 Tour of the North and putting a team together to compete in this prestigious race held over Easter weekend.
Ballymoney Cycling Club meeting
On Tuesday 5 January Ballymoney CC held their monthly club meeting, where it elected Niall O’Hagan as the club’s new Child Protection Officer.
Niall has over 20 years’ club experience and brings a wealth of knowledge to the Ballymoney Cycling Club. Also at that meeting the club elected international and former Irish champion cyclist Ryan Patton as the new Race Secretary.

Hide AdRyan has already set in place the location of club courses for races in the new season and plans are that the first race will be after the Tour of the North at Easter.
Club founding member Maurice McAllister will be looking after the promotion and media releases for the club.
His job will be to raise the profile of the club in the area and the recruitment of new members.
Club weekend runs
When the weather improves the club is planning two runs at the weekend for riders just getting started and for others less fitter. This will coincide with the usual runs.

Hide AdIt will be leaving on a Saturday from Outdoor Life on Market Street at 9.30am and the Sunday run leaves Ballymoney Rugby Club car park at 9.30am.
