A Saturday Sweep victory and three twos to boot for Poots
John Poots could give us all a lesson on how to manoeuvre our way around a golf course.
He hits his drives straight and reasonably long. He never misses the fairway, which is a big advantage. His approaches to the greens are always accurate especially with the shorter irons.

His putting was phenomenal. I can vouch for that as I was playing with him.
John had three twos and that doesn’t happen too often. He holed a 12 footer at the 12th, another from 14 feet at the 15th and, to crown it all, he holed a putt from off the green at the 18th. If I hadn’t seen it myself, I would not have believed it.
You were brilliant, John! There is no other word for it.

SUNDAY 15TH FEBRUARY
Eugene Weir is without doubt one of the most consistent players in Banbridge Golf Club. He seems to be there or thereabouts in every single competition he plays.
Eugene played the nine holes of this Sunday Sweep in two under par gross and he won by half a shot.
Incidentally, there were notwo’s on the day so another rollover is building up.
