Hide AdAlan Young, Translink Service Delivery Manager Derry~Londonderry said, “As fuel, food, energy, car parking and car maintenance costs continue to rise we are confident that passenger transport represents the best value travel option.
“This is the second time we have frozen our fares in recent years and this is down to good business management and increasing numbers of passengers on board our services. Our customers regularly tell us that they prefer using passenger transport as it gives them more time to relax, free from the stress of driving in traffic and more time to catch up on social media or emails using free Wi-Fi on board coaches.
“I’d like to encourage more consumers to go to our website www.translink.co.uk/Services/Goldline/fuelsaver/ and see the savings for themselves through our Goldline services.”
Scott Kennerley Consumer Council Head of Policy (Transport) said, “According to recent Consumer Council research the cost of petrol and diesel rank third following energy and food in the top three concerns for consumers in terms of living costs. Public transport can provide savings and we encourage consumers to shop around for the best form of transport for their needs. Consumers should factor in all transport related costs when planning their journeys including parking and fuel costs when deciding whether to drive or travel by public transport.”
