Took his wife's car to '˜relieve the boredom'
Denis Ramold MacAlinden, Charlestown Road, Craigavon, admitted driving without a licence, not having insurance and taking a car without the consent of the owner when he appeared last Friday at the local magistrates’ court.
For each offence he was fined £50 and banned from driving for three months. He was also ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy.

Hide AdThe court heard that on March 22 this year the defendant was stopped while driving on the Derrymacash Road in the direction of Lurgan.
He admitted he had taken the car without his wife’s permission and that he did not have a licence or insurance.
The defendant told police he took the car mainly to get out of the house and relieve the boredom.
Mr Conor Downey, representing the defendant, said his client had never held a driving licence.

Hide AdHe explained that out of ‘sheer boredom’ the defendant took his wife’s car and that he had recently been diagnosed with epilepsy which was another reason why he should not have been behind the wheel.
Mr Downey said his client had no intention of applying for a licence in the future.
