Hide AdAidan Gordon, incoming Partnership chair, added: “I am honoured to be taking over from Deirdre at a time of significant developments in the area of domestic violence.
“I am proud to reaffirm our commitment to the Pledge and I would like to thank Deirdre for all her efforts in leading the way on this initiative, which will lead to a greater awareness of the issue of domestic violence in the workplace.”
It is acknowledged that under-reporting of domestic violence incidents is an issue. On average the PSNI attend 60 domestic related incidents per day and it is maintained that many more cases go unreported. The Partnership collectively acknowledged this issue and gave a commitment to strengthen their support systems.
