Success of Exploring Enterprise Programme at Acorn Business Centre
Participants can benefit from 7.5 hours spent with their local business advisor before and after the course. This time is dedicated to the individual client's needs, whether this time is used to build a CV and develop interview skills, or complete a business plan and cash flow forecast in order to receive a loan or grant.
On Thursday 17th June, the Acorn Business Centre in Ballymoney presented some of the successful candidates with their certificates for completing the Exploring Enterprise Programme.

'Since August 2009, when active marketing, advertising and promotion of the Programme commenced in the Ballymoney area, there has been an impressive attendance of the course at the Acorn Business Centre. This demonstrates a demand in the area for such business courses.'
Since September 2009, 28 members of the local community have completed the Programme at Acorn and 80% of those participants have gone on to enter the world of self-employment.
These participants are now operating their own small business in the Ballymoney area. This statistic demonstrates the success of the Programme in developing potential local entrepreneurs and encouraging people from unemployment to self-employment within a few weeks.
