Snow wreaks havoc in local areas
One local motorist spoke of particular issues around Hillsborough as the slushy roads caused problems for the morning rush.
“It wasn’t too bad in Kinallen but it took me half an hour to get from the Dromore Road in Hillsborough to the Sprucefield roundabout,” said the driver.

Hide Ad“I think the radio mentioned there were broken down lorries holding it up.
“Hillsborough was absolutely gridlocked. There were school buses that didn’t seem like they were getting anywhere and students wandering about.”
Meanwhile, Moira was brought to a stand-still, with northbound traffic queued right back through Magheralin towards Dollingstown.
“Thankfully I was going the other direction but it was the biggest queue I’ve ever seen going into Moira,” said another morning driver.
