Sinn Fein candidates hand in their papers
Mrs McDonald visited a number of projects across Upper Bann as well as launching the ‘Better With Sinn Féin’ Billboard Campaign.
John O’Dowd, one of Sinn Féin’s two Assembly Candidates in Upper Bann, said: “Following the unprecedented success of Sinn Féin in the general election in the 26 Counties we will insert the same energy and campaigning which has made Sinn Féin a real alternative force throughout Irish politics.

“May 5 is an opportunity for us all to make a major contribution to the battle for equality and to strengthen our call for a border poll.
“Let’s elect two Sinn Féin MLAs in Upper Bann. 2016 is a very important year for Irish Republicanism; a year in which I am particularly proud to be a Sinn Féin representative.
“Many of the ideals that the leaders of the 1916 period put before the world, are as relevant today as they ever were; the battle of ideas, the battle for equality, for a better society, for a better standard of living and the campaign for national independence.
“In this election campaign, the electorate has a choice.

“We will continue to campaign on an all-Ireland basis on matters of the economy, of education, of agriculture and on language rights.
“Having Mary Lou McDonald TD here today visiting a number of local projects is evidence of that.
“On May 5, come out and elect two Sinn Féin MLAs.”
