PSNI make appeal for more care over gorse fires
E District Crime Prevention Officer, Michelle Wilson said: “Grass and gorse fires have the potential to cause widespread damage to the environment and harm to wildlife, as well as threatening homes and businesses.
“The risks to firefighters engaged in dealing with fires and the consequences of tying up crucial resources that might be needed elsewhere should not be underestimated.”

Hide AdOn a sperate issue police in Banbridge are appealing for information after a car was set alight in the Milebush Manor area of Dromore.
At 12.22am on Thursday, 6 June, police received a report of a car on fire. Police and NIFRS attended. A white Vauxhall Astra had been set alight and NIFRS extinguished the fire.
Enquiries have been conducted and police are appealing to anyone who witnessed the fire being started or has information in relation to the incident to contact them on 0845 600 8000. If you prefer you can contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
