£9m spent on road schemes
Prior to the meeting between the DRD and Lisburn City Council Danny Kennedy said: “In the Lisburn City Council area, despite demands on budgets, DRD invested over £9m in delivering a comprehensive range of road schemes and maintenance work.”
Among the carriageway resurfacing schemes during the year included Comber Road, Glenavy Road, Upper Ballynahinch Road and Culcavy Road.

Hide AdDanny Kennedy said: “DRD’s proposed programme for this financial year will see the installation of a new puffin crossing at Antrim Road, and footway resurfacing in Hillhall Estate and Kesh Road.
“In addition carriageway resurfacing is programmed for the Saintfield Road and Ballynahinch Road.”
Other completed works during the year include extensive carriageway and footway resurfacing at Ballinderry Road and Main Street, Dromara.
Road improvements also completed last year include the traffic calming schemes in Ballinderry and Ravarnet.
