£728,000 of improvements at Maine PS
The investment has enabled the school to update modular accommodation to provide new classroom and group space, a multi-purpose hall, a room for pupils with special educational needs and school meals facilities.
The project is in the closing stages of construction and fitting out.

Hide AdSpeaking after he enjoyed a short tour of the school, the Minister said: “Maine Integrated Primary School has been serving the local community since 2003.
“The school has a diverse enrolment and has seen an increase in numbers in recent years.
“The improvements to the school’s facilities are the result of a significant investment by my Department and I am very pleased to have the opportunity to see the works close to completion.
The new facilities will benefit the whole school and will deliver an improved learning environment.”

Hide AdThe investment in Maine Integrated PS is part of the School Enhancement Programme and was announced to proceed in March 2013.
The Minister added: “The School Enhancement Programme has seen schools across the north benefit from significant improvement works.
“The programme is also providing work for the construction sector as projects proceed, helping underpin employment.
“My thanks go to the Principal Julian Costelloe, the staff and the pupils for the warm welcome I received on my visit to Maine Integrated PS today.
“I hope everyone at the school enjoys the new facilities when they are finished.”
