£289k spent renovating PSNI barracks
Any person arrested in the West Tyrone district is instead taken to either Strand Road, Strabane or Omagh.
The PSNI outlined the expenditure on the barracks in response to a Freedom of Information request.

Hide AdPolice said its Estate Services Business Unit advised £289,000 was spent on renovating the surroundings/barriers of Castlederg Barracks in 2010/2011.
It advised there are 9 full time police officers attached to Castlederg PSNI Station although daily figures cannot be given as it depends on the shift patterns of the officers.
And although the facility is not open to the public if anyone calls at the station the officers on duty will deal with their request and make arrangements to have there enquiry dealt with.
People who call the district telephone number will be directed to call handling in Foyle. The PSNI also advised that Castlederg is not a designated station and has nO suitable custody facilities.
As a result all persons arrested are taken to the nearest designated custody suite which would be Omagh, Strand Road or Strabane when open.
