Residents urged to get involved in a ‘Big Spring Clean’
and live on Freeview channel 276
Big Spring Cleans have continued to take place even throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, albeit socially distanced.
The Council supports any community groups, sports clubs or schools carrying out a Big Spring Clean by loaning litter pickers, providing bin bags and by collecting and disposing of the rubbish afterwards.

Residents have gone above and beyond in their efforts to assist our own street cleansing staff in ensuring our streets, roads, pathways, open spaces and beautiful country sides are kept presentable, and as litter-free as possible.
“Mid Ulster is renowned for its dedication to recycling and protecting the environment, consistently having the highest recycling rate of all 11 councils here. Big Spring Cleans are a continuation of this excellent work and are testament again to the enthusiasm our residents, our recycling heroes, show to all things green. I would encourage all community groups, sports clubs, schools and other groups to consider organising a Big Spring Clean in their area over the coming weeks.”
