Michael Van Gerwen and Sam Allardyce lend support to Larne ahead of final

Ahead of the clash on Wednesday (December 2), a number of famous faces have sent video messages of support to Tiernan Lynch and his team.

Hide AdSpeaking from the Boylesports Grand Slam of Darts, Dutch star Michael Van Gerwen said: “Good luck to the finalist, Larne and make sure you are going to beat them!”
‘Big Sam’ also sent an uplifting message to the club, who are appearing in their first final since their Irish Cup defeat in 2005.
The former England manager, who also had spells in charge at a host of teams including Bolton, Newcastle, Blackburn, West Ham, Sunderland, Crystal Palace and Everton, said: “I’d just like to wish the Larne fans, the players and the staff the best of luck for the Co Antrim Shield final on December 2. Bring the trophy home, boys!”
Cup fever is currently gripping the east Antrim town with local traders backing the team.

Hide AdEarlier this week, Larne FC launched an appeal to get homes, schools and shop fronts decorated ahead of the final.
Posting on social media this morning, a club spokesperson said: “Prestige Flooring and Bathrooms are the first to enter our supporters’ competition with this Christmas themed window display!”
