Ballykelly babyboom as three sets of twins arrive
The last time twins were baptised at Ballykelly was 30 years ago. Now, from the same extended family, three sets of twin boys were baptised at Ballykelly Presbyterian Church this year.
From a congregation of around 300 families, three sets of twins in the space of just a few weeks, is a remarkable coincidence, Reverend Alan Wilson told the Sentinel.

He continued: “A special service was held at Ballykelly Presbyterian Church to mark the occasion of three sets of twins who were recently baptised. The last twins to be baptised at Ballykelly was 30 years ago, and they were the twin sisters of Donna Morrow (nee Nicholl).
“Through another family connection Paula and Leanne are also first cousins and their grandfather Harold Glendinning is an elder in Ballykelly. Donna and Nigel’s twins James and William are identical as are Paula and Stuart’s, Noah and Max. Leanne and Mark’s twins Logan and Olly are the youngest of the six. And incidentally all the twins are boys. These records are certainly all firsts for Ballykelly and probably for most other churches as well. A special cake was baked for the occasion for all the congregation to enjoy.
“The Easter period reminds us of new life. The chill of the winter season passes and spring eventually emerges heralding new growth and new life. Spring brings with it expectancy and hope. With the arrival of new babies into the world parents too look forward with great hope. A new relationship between parents and babies begins.

“Only Christ can turn a person’s life around where they can experience his healing of the heart and mind. On the cross the life of the most remarkable man to have ever lived came to an end. But as one chapter closed another opened. Easter Sonrise- the triumphant return of the crucified Christ. New life in Christ means new hope and new certainties that previously we thought were never possible.”
