No celebrity buyer for unique Temple estate
It was widely believed in and around the neighbouring towns and villages that various celebrities were interested in purchasing the estate, which was built by the Marquis of Downshire in 1859.
Indeed, rumours have been rife that the purchaser might be WBA World Featherweight title holder Carl Frampton, or celebrity couple Christine and Frank Lampard. However, Robert Wilson has confirmed that the new owner of the stunning 25-acre property in Temple is, in fact, a local businessman.

“What we weren’t quite prepared for were the many ‘facts’ that members of the general public shared with us. We knew who had actually made enquiries, but many locals were adamant that they had insider knowledge as to the identity of the bidders and even the buyer. It did sometimes make us smile when we were very well aware that most of those names had never even expressed an interest in the property. While there were one or two high-profile enquiries into Killaney Lodge, they did not come from boxers or TV presenters with footballing spouses.
“Killaney Lodge has been sold to a local businessman, who is looking forward to enjoying the beautiful property and its grounds.”
