More spending needed on roads says Old Warren group
Sam Hamilton, chairman of Old Warren Community Association, said: “I would like to thank our elected representatives and the Road Service for taking time out of their busy schedule to walk around Old Warren, to see at first hand the concerns that the local community have about the condition of the roads and footpaths in the area and the need for more money to be spent by the Road Service, on our roads and footpaths.”
Alderman Paul Porter said: “Working with the local Community Association over the past 10 years, we have seen major investments in the Old Warren area, ranging from community facilities to much needed money being spent on social housing. As elected representatives, we welcome the opportunity for the local community to express their concerns directly with the Road Service.”

Hide AdLagan Valley MLA Paul Givan said Old Warren was in need of more investment by Roads Service.
“Throughout the Lagan Valley area we have been working with Community Associations and the Roads Service to increase the amount of money that is spent on repairing and renewing our roads and footpaths. Old Warren is one of those communities that are in much need of work to be carried out by the Road Service,” he said.
Councillor Andrew Ewing added: “Following the recent harsh weather conditions, the area has experienced an unprecedented number of potholes that are in urgent need of repair. There is also an urgent need for Roads Service to repair the cracked and raised pavements, which are a concern as they can result in injuries for residents, particularly the elderly.”
