MLA welcomes autism group's first meeting
Speaking after the Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Reference Group's first meeting, Mr McCallister commended his Party colleague, Health Minister Michael McGimpsey, on his commitment to improving the treatment and care of those who are affected by autism.

"I welcome the fact that Minister McGimpsey has been able to secure an additional 2.02million for autism services. Indeed, last autumn the Department of Health published a comprehensive Autism Action Plan and that is now being implemented. However, in order for the improvements set out in that plan to be effective and worthwhile, it is imperative that all people affected by autism - either personally or professionally - work together.
