“Brutal violence like this is totally futile and serves only to incite fear in our community.”

Police have arrested a man in connection with the incident.
Mr Heading said: “People around here don’t want shootings in their neighbourhood. We want a peaceful, prosperous community where children can grow and flourish and pensioners feel safe in their homes.
“The perpetrators of this attack ought to consider what they are contributing to this community and join the many people doing good work here to make Dunmurry a better place to live.”
Local councillor Stephen Magennis said children were playing in and around the area at the time of the shooting.

“As far as I am aware the shots were fired indiscriminately through the door, so they had no idea where those bullets could have ended up, and there were children playing very close to where the shooting happened so they could have been injured.”
