Man let an uninsured person drive his car
But that was not the case and last Thursday at the local court Colin Meeke, Larchwood Crescent, Banbridge, was fined £250 and given six points for allowing someone to drive without having insurance.
He was also fined £150 and ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy for permitting him to drive without a licence.

Meeke, who was intoxicated at the time, was the owner of the vehicle and had allowed the other person to drive.
He said he just presumed the other person had a licence and insurance. District Judge, Mr Paul Copeland, said that a letter sent to the court by the defendant set out the facts in mitigation and expressed remorse.
