Lunn slams '˜ill advised' decision to reopen car park
Branding the move “ill advised” and warning that it could be “subject to review”, he commented: “The council has previously taken enforcement action to close this facility. The Planning Appeals Commission has refused applications on several occasions to allow it to reopen. There is substantial over capacity in the city centre of car parking provision, so much so that all the off-street parks are operating far below capacity.”
The former Lisburn councillor, who spoke against the temporary car park application during Monday’s committee meeting, said the issue of redeveloping the Jordan’s Mill site has been rumbling on for 17 years.

“The division in the Planning Committee was plain to see and their decision hard to justify. We will wait and see what the outcome will be.”
