Local community pays a fond and respectful farewell to Teenie
Christina celebrated her 90th birthday on Christmas Day 2009.
At the time of her death, Christina was President of Mossley Women's Institute, Vice Pesident of Mossley Hockey Club and on the committee of Newtownabbey Senior Citizens’ Forum.

Hide AdChristina and her sisters, Elizabeth and Nellie, appeared on the cover of the first ever issue of Newtownabbey Council's Source magazine.
Christina was a member of the Women's Voluntary Service during the Second World War and a volunteer at the City Hospital, receiving a medal for her work. She did this as well as working full time in Mossley Mill.
Christina was a founder member of Mossley Women's Institute in 1945, and she founded the Mossley Women's Institute Drama Group in 1990, bringing home many trophies over the years.
In fact, in 2006 five trophies were won at the WI drama festival. Christina wrote, produced and acted in all of the plays.

Hide AdMayor Alderman John Scott attended Christina’s funeral along with many friends and representives of the aforementioned organisations and other groups who held Christina in high esteem. Over the years, Christina and her sister Elizabeth spoke to a number of groups about the history of Mossley Mill and the local area.
