Leading politicians add their sympathies
The DUP leader described the incident as ‘dreadful and horrendous.’ Adding that he felt that the accident highlighted the dangers on farms he said, “It’s a tremendous vocation, it’s a very important part of our life in Northern Ireland but I have to say our farms can be places of real danger and that requires us to be looking at the safety issues and there is responsibility as government for that as well.”
Meanwhile, Mr McGuinness said that the incident was ‘heartbreaking’.
