Larne girl earns musical offers
Mary Nelson was the third pupil in three years from Belfast High School to be accepted to attend a college of music.
After auditions, Mary was offered a place to study singing at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, The Royal College of Music, London and the Royal Academy of Music, London.

Hide AdMary accepted the offer from the Royal Academy and was set to begin her studies there in September 1990.
In 1989 a pupil from Belfast High School was accepted to the Royal Northern College of Music to study viola, while another pupil from the Shore Road school was accepted to the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in 1988 to study violin.
