History Society gets to grips with ‘People and Places’ project
The pack was written and produced with advice and help from Edenderry Primary School, who have scored another historical first.
It is planned to distribute copies of the pack to other local schools.

Hide AdMr Stephen Wilson, Principal of Edenderry Primary School, said: “We pride ourselves on providing a rounded education for pupils in our care and were delighted when Banbridge Historical Society asked us if we would like to take part in the lottery funded local history project.
“Local History is an important part of the Department of Education’s new enriched school curriculum.
“Local history is an important part of the curriculum because it arouses pupils’ interest in their environment. Insight into the lives of people who lived in the past can result in feelings of empathy and thankfulness for our comparatively comfortable existence and knowledge about local people and places enriches children’s lives.”
Adrian Howlett, Chair of Banbridge Historical Society said, “We were delighted when our society won lottery funding to produce a local history pack for schools.
