Group to bring aims to wider audience
As a first step, the President of the Association and former Independent Moyle councillor, Seamus Blaney, was part of a delegation visiting one of the area’s two twin towns, Ballinasloe in Co. Galway.
Along with the chair of the Association, Catherine Mcambridge, treasurer, Willie Graham and committee member, Lyle McMullan, the delegation was hosted at the Shearwater hotel by representatives from Ballinasloe.

Hide AdAll acknowledged that the twinning arrangement should not only continue but enhance its profile with further exchange visits and a heightened awareness of both areas to attract more visitors.
Mr Blaney said that Moyle Twinning was no longer confined to the old council boundaries but now stood within the Causeway Coast and Glens council area which not only broadened its scope but gave a whole new perspective.
“We are convinced of the merits of twinning but realise that everything will be stalled until finances are established. That won’t stop us from making plans with both Ballinasloe and Pourrieres.”
