Walking enthusiasts and the public are invited to partake in the two and a half mile walk in the Garvagh countryside, which commences at 2.30pm at the entrance to Errigal Glen at Temple Road.
Countryside Development Officer at Coleraine Borough Council, Mary Strong, is encouraging people to don their walking boots: "The Errigal Glen Trail is a gentle introduction to hill-walking, suitable for most ages and abilities.
"The start of the trail follows the Agivey River through Errigal Glen, an area of beautifully mature beech and oak woodland. The walk passes Ballintemple House, a fine Grade II listed building which was originally home to the Heyland family who were among the first of the original 'Planters' in the Province.
"Other points of interest along the trail include Errigal Old Church and Souterrain, founded by St. Adamnan in the mid 7th Century, and also Gortnamoyagh Inauguration Stone, believed to have been used during inauguration ceremonies for Gaelic chieftains up until the 16th Century.
