Gallery: New Credit Union opens in Ardboe
Situated just a stone’s throw from the old premises in the car park of Ardboe Parish Centre, the new building has secured the credit union’s place as the heart of the community.
The building was designed by local firm APS Architects, Martin Quinn from the company told the TIMES: “APS Architects were proud to be able to design and deliver a modern, eco-friendly building which meets the needs of the Credit Union, both now and in the future.”

Hide AdAs banks close their doors on rural branches, the Credit Unions are seeing the opportunity to replace them.
Having successfully applied to Stormont for funding to help roll out their services to include current accounts and debit cards, Credit Unions are fast becoming the alternative to rural banking.
“We wanted to ensure that we were ‘future proofing’ ourselves when we embarked on this project,” said Ardboe Credit Union’s Chairperson Deirdre Mayo.
“We have a state of the art building and the capacity to move forward and embrace all the changes that are coming. It is exciting times for us,” she added.

“We were delighted at the interest in the new premises. There were lots of very positive comments made, which is very encouraging,” Deirdre said.
To celebrate the opening of the new premises the Credit Union are running an exclusive members only draw, where the main prize is a new Seat Ibiza Toca, supplied by Donnelly Bros.
The draw is a non-profit making venture, as with everything in the Credit Union. Tickets are priced at £20 and if more tickets are sold than the price of the car the remainder of the prize fund will go out in a range of smaller prizes.
