On the day he was arrested, the injured party had found Saunderson inside her house, while police later discovered the defendant up a tree.
Barrister Stephen Law said Saunderson had been in possession of a set of keys to the injured party’s house.
Mr Law said Saunderson had since spent a period of time in Holywell hospital, adding: “It was an acrimonious break-up and he couldn’t come to terms with it.”
Suspending the prison sentence for two years, District Judge Des Perry told Saunderson: “Any repetition of this type of behaviour and you will serve it.”
