Dromore woman ‘lucky to be alive’ after she is struck by falling tree in town park
It’s understood the local woman suffered broken bones when an ash tree crashed down across the path near the viaduct as she was walking her dogs.
Alerted to the incident during a council meeting, Dromore councillor, Alderman Paul Rankin, said the woman was lucky to be alive.

“I was able to raise this urgent matter right away with council officers,” he said.
“I would like to record my thanks to the young people at the park who were on hand to assist and quickly came to the aid of the lady and phoned for an ambulance.
“I wish the lady concerned a speedy recovery and I would advise people to avoid the area around the steep bank beside the viaduct until it is made safe.”
