Dromore woman fined for speeding

Hide AdThe offences were said to have occurred at 1pm on 19 September at Banbridge Road, Dromore.
The defendant was caught travelling at 56mph in a 30 mph zone on her way towards the town centre.
District Judge Mr Paul Copeland said the road on which she was caught had not one, but two, schools located there. “She was pushing 60mph and that was not healthy,” he said.
Solicitor Mr Gillen said his client was a 40 year-old Thai lady who was separated with three children.

Hide AdHe said she worked part-time in Loughbrickland and was trying to provide for her family.
Mr Gillen said her direct debit payments on her insurance had lapsed, but her vehicle was essential for work and her children.
She was given 10 weeks to pay the fines.
