Disorderly man at hospital given bail
The court was told that Patrick James Anthony Farren (54), of Stoneburn Place, off Ardmore Road in the Waterside, had over 200 previous convictions and was currently before the court accused of disorderly behaviour in Altnagelvin Hospital, as well as charges of criminal damage and assaulting and resisting police on May 9.
Objecting to bail, an investigating officer said the accused had 206 previous convictions and it was an “absolute certainty” he will commit further offences.

Hide AdHe told the court Farren was a “complete gentleman when sober” but was totally different after drinking.
District Judge Barney McElholm released the defendant on bail with conditions to appear in court again on June 2.
However, he warned Farren if he consumed alcohol he would be remanded in custody.
