Defence lawyer Michael Forde stressed the incident happened almost three years ago, and McGuigan has since found full time employment and was in a steady relationship.
Mr Forde said it was clear that on this occasion the defendant had far too much alcohol consumed. He pointed out that despite no case being made against him for criminal damage he had paid £170 to the injured party.
