Council facing charges over death of worker
In July 2011, 39-year-old council worker Alan Devenney, a father of two, died after be became trapped by a lorry at the Coleraine Borouhgh Council recycling plant at at Loughanhill Industrial Estate.
At the time of the accident the Health and Safety Executive were quickly on the scene.
They closed the site to allow investigations to take place.

Hide AdOn Friday Coleraine Borough Council officials were present at North Antrim Magistrates’ court when the case was adjourned.
Coleraine Borough Council faces three charges - failing to to ensure the health, safety and welfare at work of employees, failing to protect non-employees and a further charge of failing to organise a workplace in such a way that pedestrians and vehicles could circulate in a safe manner.
The case was adjourned to July 5, when a Preliminary Enquiry will be heard.
