Regen Waste has appealed a refusal by the Planning Service to allow it to build a waste facility in the Seagoe industrial area.
Councillor Alan Carson, an employee at Almac, said the waste facility could directly affect the sensitive work of the cancer research facility.

"But if this plan is allowed to go ahead it could mean jobs lost.
"Over 2,600 people are employed at the company's base in Carn and if the work of the cancer research laboratory or the diagnostics facility are affected by this then the jobs will go.
"And it could also affect jobs at the food park and deter future investment, this is a decision that will affect the people of Lurgan and Portadown and the entire country."
A delegation from the council will attend a planning appeal hearing and plead a case for the plan's refusal.
